What are affirmations? How are they different to intentions? How can they be used?
First things first, let’s talk about The Law of Attraction. Most people know about The Law of Attraction, or at least have heard about it; especially after the top selling book ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne spread word world-wide in 2006.
The Law of Attraction
Every thought, every word, every action has energy attached to it. Positive words (affirmations), will attract positive energy. The same happens to negative words (judgement, self-doubt), they will attract negative energy.
Understanding the energies attached to each action and word that you put out to the universe will help you to know where to direct your focus and become a more positive, happy person in your daily life.
Affirmations; Change Your Mindset.
Simple changes in the way you say things can have a major effect on your mental state. Affirmations are positive statements that if practiced in daily life, a total shift in mindset and lifestyle is entirely possible. If someone is calling in love, money, or happiness but they do not truly believe they are worthy, this energy of self-doubt, or doubt of an outcome is then attached to the manifestation. When manifesting, you must whole heartedly believe that you are ready for the manifestation to come into fruition, or the universe will resist.
To help strengthen this, you can practice using affirmations in your daily life. Write them down, say them out loud, or in your head. You can also write them on post-it notes and place them around your living and working areas to create a reminder of positive thinking throughout your day.
For many growing up in the western world, we are influenced from a young age to naturally think in a fairly negative way. The glass tends to be half empty in the western mindset.
Starting with basic affirmations will help you to adjust your mindset, so that thinking positively becomes more natural.

- I am successful
- I am powerful
- I am divine energy
- I am love and light
Then, you can begin to see a shift in your mindset. Suddenly, you will be thinking more positively, and affirmations will support each situation that happens in your day-to-day life.

- I choose a positive mindset for today, tomorrow and the rest of my days
- The universe supports me
- Everything that happens in my life, serves for the greater good of me
